"Get noticed with funky shoes"

Black is clichéd and white, you’d better push right back into your closet. Bring out your blue suede shoes! Payless for shoes here..

Don’t believe us, check out what our B-town celebs have been sporting lately. Their shoe colours range from sunflower yellow, shades of green to purple and even sky blue. Yellow, though, appears to have caught everyone’s fancy.

Bollywood style queen Gauri Khan smartly teamed a pair of yellow-heeled shoes with a black cocktail dress and clutch. We also spotted designer Anna Singh wearing a black outfit and a pair of dainty yellow satin shoes. She had accessoried well with chunky gold jewellery and a multi-hued clutch. Twinkle Khanna took the trend to an award show in Bangkok. She walked in wearing a stunning fuschia outfit and yellow, peep-toe slip-ons. Even Shamita Shetty seems to be in love with yellow.

“Yellow was the biggest prediction since last fall and look at what a trend it’s become,” says shoe designer. Now here’s the best part. You don’t need to match your clothes and accessories with these coloured shoes. Just wear them, whatever the colour of your outfit. Rest assured, your footwear will definitely be a hit. It’s all about making a personal style statement.

Meanwhile, a suburban makeover store says it’s the vibrant and glossy yellow which is the colour of the season. “Team it with anything from black to any bright coloured outfit, it’s sure to make the wearer look good. There’s no hard and fast rule, you have to be innovative,” she says.

According to her, green is another ‘on-the-run’ colour, while purple, though in vogue, has not really caught on. And if you thought coloured shoes was completely a girlie thing, you’re wrong. Guys, too, are happily sporting footwear in colours ranging from deep red to green and aqua blue.

Speaking about this trend, actor Sudanshu Pandey says, “I’m glad it’s in vogue now. I love coloured footwear and now I can wear all my pairs regularly.” As for the next season, our experts predict deeper colours like maroon. “Purple will also continue in the season,” concludes.
